How to see/understand/experience a self-observation which is more valid than just looking in the mirror or make wordplays with shifting between first and third person? What this ‘valid’ observation is; a mirror where the object-subject relation is visible. Actually, in any normal mirror this relation is visible. But we take the relation for granted as an apriori condition – so we take no notice of it. This smart mirror is only smart because it indicates these rules (for the object/subject relation) that we expect, so it is our expectation (or conviction if you will) that comes to light. When convictions of our self and our way of looking are revealed to us, we get to know more about it- and we get to know more about ourselves. Being aware of conditioning/forming/influencing convictions is the very definition of intelligence. Hence a ‘smart-mirror’. Who’s ready for some transcendental self-investigation?
